Kaden's new favorite pastime

Kaden liked swings last year, but this year.....He loves them. I have been taking him to the park on warm days recently and he is in love with it. We took his bike last time and he got to ride it around the trail while I walked. We didn't make it past the creek as he he loves to throw rocks in the creek. One day Russell showed him how to put a twig upstream and then follow it down the creek, so now he has to so it with whatever he finds, big sticks, trash, rocks ect.

On another note, I think my pain meds caught up with me last night. I have never been able to take anything that makes me sleepy like Tylenol PM or sleeping pills because it makes me do crazy stuff while I am "asleep". Well, I was feeling better yesterday afternoon and did some dishes and talked too much. Then Russell cooked dinner and he made Kaden mashed potatoes. Well since I was feeling so good, I thought I might venture off my Jello diet. I had a small bowl of potatoes...that stated the downhill slide! So after that it was still two hours before I could have anything for pain. I ended up taking a 1/2 dose and then when it was time for then meds I took 3/4 of a dose. I ended up taking 1/4 of a dose more than I should have. When I finally went to sleep at 4:00am, I was crazy after that. I kept waking up crawling all over the bed, I was talking, laughing and then I started pushing on Russell trying to get him to wake up. I would wake up enough to realize that, "Man this really hurts my throat, I need to go back to sleep." So I would lay back down only to wake up doing the same thing. I did this over and over between 4:00 and 7:00 this morning. Luckily Russell was dead asleep or he would have killed me. I remember laughing and yelling at Rick Vermillion the radio guy...go figure.

Russell took Kaden to the Circus that was in town the other night. KADEN RODE ON AN ELEPHANT!!!! He also told me that his favorite part was the monkeys, but Russell said they didn't even have monkeys so who knows. He loved eating the peanuts which I am a big fan of since they offered him cotton candy and he didn't like it!! Yeah! I don't have any good pics of Kaden on the elephant since it was really dark in the tent when he was riding it.
Kaden is getting his spring pictures done at school today. I hope they turn out as good as his Christmas ones did.

Easter Egg Hunt 2009

Today my good friend Tanya came up to the house and brought us a bunch of food and took Kaden to the Easter egg hunt at the park. Kaden and Trey had a fun time from what I can tell from the pictures she burned me. Tanya is a wonderful cook. She made us Sloppy Joe Mannicoti, french bread, dirt cake, fruit salad, corn casserole, and a pasta bake!! She also brought tulips to boot! After the Egg Hunt, I guess she took the boys to get ice cream, because Kaden was bouncing off the walls talking about his ice cream in the plastic cup. I am so blessed with good friends and family. After Kaden took his nap and I took about my fifth one for the day, Colleen and Anna called to ask and see if Kaden could come to a movie with them. So off went Kaden again and he had a blast. While he was gone to the movies, my Aunt Sharon brought Kaden some toys and snacks to open when he got back. I think Kaden is going to want his mommy to be sick more often. My Mom came last night and made potato soup that we are still eating on. Stephanie left some goodies on our porch and a card with a poem about losing my tonsils that was hilarious! I am still on pretty much a Jell-o only diet. I have been trying to eat other stuff, but it just isn't working well yet, maybe tomorrow. We get to get our new dog soon from my brother. Kaden has already named it Sparky. I hope to be feeling better by Monday since I have been chosen for Jury Duty and have to go for the meeting. The circus is Monday too. Since we are not having Clown Days this year, I definantly want to take Kaden to the circus. Well I am starting to get tired again, it has been a long day. Thanks for all the phone calls, emails, text messages, food, and prayers from everyone.

Last Day

This is the last day before my tonsil surgery. Kaden and I are hanging out watching Cars. I have to be in Springfield at 6:30am tomorrow. We are going to make a bunch of Jello later. Pray for me that the surgery goes well and the recovery goes fast. I will try to post some pictures later......I said I would try!

Just waiting on summer!!

Posted by Picasa

quick post

Hey everyone, just so you all know, my tonsil surgery has been postponed to April 2nd. The Dr. seems to think he needs to take a vacation or something...Argh! Also on a very funny note.....Kaden informed Russ this morning that, " God sure makes some good oofu!" Just so you know, oofu is chocolate milk to Kaden. Hope everyone enjoys their St.Patty's Weekend and parties...please be safe, I have to work and I don't want to see your butts in the ER.
On another note, does anyone watch the news anyomore? It is on right now and is so depressing. It seems like everyone is stinking CRAZY! Anyway, have a great weekend!

My Garden

O.K. so this is not the garden we have this year, but I am hoping. This was are garden 2 years ago. Our garden is still bare right now but I am getting ready to start planting. It is always so fun to plan the garden and figure what to put where and how much to put in. Then reality sets in when the weeds start to come up. I love my garden and I love getting the fresh food from it. I also love canning. I did green beans, salsa, sweet pepper relish, apple sauce and apple cider last year. This year I hope to do all that and spaghetti sauce and potatoes.

I do have a slight problem this year though. As many of you know, our house is for sale. We do have a garden plot at our other house at the farm, so I am thinking that I will have two gardens this year. I hate to not have one here at the house, since I know it will get more attention, but if our house sells, I wouldn't have any produce unless I plant at the farm too. So, if our house doesn't sell this summer, I am going to have a lot of food to put up. Glad we bought the extra freezer a few months back. Who knows what to do except God. You know that he is laughing at me stressing about this because he knows exactly what is going to happen.....if only I had that foresight! We are hoping that the house sells soon so we can move during warmer weather. We have had a lot of lookers recently so that is hopeful!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Sticker Man

I hope you all love how I am only blogging once per week at best lately, but I have been busy. I am still taking pics on a fairly regular basis, just not posting them. So, I decided lots of posts on one day was better than nothing at all. This is a random shot from a few nights ago. Kaden fell asleep on our bed while watching his show. I guess having stickers on your shirt is too boring, so he put them on his face before falling asleep. I had to pull them off before I put him in his bed and let me tell you, he was out! He didn't even move as them came off his face. These are the same stickers that Jim and DJ gave him for his birthday. He puts stickers on everyday and anyone else who is around gets at least one if not more. I recommend buying sticker books for kids this age, the book still has more left in it than Kaden has used and we have had it since January.
